Besides the obvious “you don’t murder and you damn well don’t celebrate it” belief, and the tweets I’ve shared on twitter, I’ll add this to introduce as well as conclude the topic on this blog:

When the purportedly religious need the laws of humans or commit violence in support of laws, they emphasize their weaknesses and the worst flaws of humans-exactly the opposite purposes of religion, which is to guide us to pious lives and enlightenment. Death deprives people of their chances to be enlightened and change, if they are indeed in need, which is not a conclusion best left to individuals and a lack of due process. God hardly needs a gunman or bomber to act on God’s behalf and God does not need humans to enact laws to enforce God’s will. Human err and so can their laws. <link>
